On Wednesday 30th March we took part in the Lancashire School Games Commonwealth Baton Relay Baton relay begins and inspiring stories are shared as countdown to S | Lancashire School Games

At the end of or our school Lent and Easter Service in Church, representatives from The Hollins brought up the baton as part of the relay around Lancashire. They passed the baton over to representatives from each year group. Our Choir then sang “Sing” composed by Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber, a song originally composed for the Commonwealth Countries for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

Later in the day, the seven representatives of our school, Stanley, Joshua, Isabelle, Katie, Charlie, Max and Evie made their way to Arden Hall to begin the active travel part of the next stage of the relay. They made their way through the footpaths of Arden Hall, taking in a little bit of local history along the way. They then followed the path to the entrance of the Coppice and walked around the lower paths to the allotments and finally down towards Peel Park Primary School. They were welcomed by the whole school making a guard of honor around the playground and the baton was finally passed over to their Wellbeing Warriors who shared with us their inspirational values.
