Spring 2 2023
National Science Week- In Year 4, we investigated our finger prints. We enjoyed learning about the different patterns on our unique fingertips and how they can be used as identification. After this, we created and analysed our prints and looked for similarities and differences within the group!

World Book Day– We had a mixture of bedtime readers and fictional characters in the classroom. Throughout the morning, we had lots of fun with a live lesson and various other activities such as: quizzes, colouring and the ‘Baxenden Big Read’. In the afternoon, we were fortunate enough to be visited at Forest School by Mrs Wonka, who gave Year 4 a challenge to create a weird and wonderful chocolate treat to be in with winning the prize of a Wonka Bar and golden ticket!!!

Life Education Workshop- We were thrilled at the return of Steven and Harold the giraffe who visited to teach us all about how it’s ‘great to be me’. During the session, we were transported to another planet to rid the planet of evil and save the cloned people

Red Nose Day- To support the Comic Relief charity, we took part in fundraising by dressing in bright colours. Throughout the day, we looked at the importance (especially in the current economic climate) of charity work and the Christian Value of generosity. Year 4 enjoyed designing their own red noses and completing special Red Nose Day themed maths activities.

DT- Coin Purses: Take a look at some of the pictures from our textiles unit. From investigating existing purses, to practising joining techniques and eventually designing, creating and evaluating our creations. Whilst some children found this a huge challenge, we persevered and had lots of fun during the whole process.

Rock Steady Concert- Well done to Isla R and Aveline for your wonderful performance in your rock band! We were all so proud of you 🙂
