On Saturday 30th September Mrs Green, Mrs Baynes and Mrs Williams attended the Hyndburn Sports Awards at Accrington Town Hall after being nominated in the category of “Primary School of the Year for PE and Sport”

At Baxenden St John’s we are extremely proud (and passionate) about our Physical Education, Physical Activity and School Sport provisions so were delighted with our nomination.

Despite not winning the main award this year we were commended as one of the top three schools in Hyndburn.

Well done to all our amazing pupils who show great determination, resilience and a positive attitude to PE at our school. Without your enthusiasm we would not achieve the things we do. A huge thank you to all our parents for supporting the children too. We really appreciate it. We are looking forward to another successful sporting year.

It was wonderful to see Fred, our volunteer who helps to run our Gardening Club being recognised for his services to volunteering at both our school and at Baxenden Cricket Club. A well deserved award. Congratulations Fred.
