Thankfulness

The meaning of Thankfulness (noun) is: “the warm, happy feeling you get when you appreciate something good or kind in your life. It Means:
- It is a noun, which means it is a thing—specifically, an inner feeling or state of being.
- It is the state of being glad for help, nice gifts, or good friends.
- It is more than just saying “thank you”; it is a deep feeling of gladness inside your heart.
- We can show thanks by saying thanks out loud, writing a note or drawing a picture for someone who helped, or we can help out others in return.
Thought for the half term: We believe that thankfulness helps us to recognise and appreciate the many blessings God has given us. Jesus showed gratitude throughout His life, thanking God and encouraging others to see the good around them. We encourage our children to develop thankful hearts by appreciating their families, friends, teachers and the opportunities they have each day. By taking time to say “thank you”, helping others and recognising God’s love in our lives, we learn to be joyful, kind and caring members of our school community. Through thankfulness, our children grow in faith and learn to celebrate both the big and small gifts that God provides.
